"It is with great honor that the Whiteside Museum of Natural History dedicates the Lindgren Hall of Ichthyology to Mr. Anthony Lindgren, current and long-time supporter of this museum. The WMNH humbly thanks Mr. Lindgren for the donation of his time and his rich fossil beds for research and collection by the Whiteside Museum of Natural History paleontology team. The WMNH is proud to exhibit world-class fossils from the Green River formation of western Wyoming. Mr. Lindgren's continuous passion for paleontology and support of science and education is an inspiration to us all.
The 50-million-year-old green river fossil beds were discovered in the 1870’s preserving the exquisite fossils of amphibians, crocodiles, birds, fish, and lots more. The green fossil record is the best Paleogene freshwater lake ecosystem.
